We own the CD of the music & enjoy it.

We will be studying Cinderella next school year and this would be an outstanding finale.

I missed the 1957 version - I was two. I'd love to see it!

The only really beautiful production of Cinderella was the 1957 version. I have seen the others and neither of them can hold a candle to the original. I want my own copy on DVD and hope that the DVD will be issued this year (2004).

The first version is the best!

The 1957 production was the best of the three. The most recent was a travestry. I hope the original is released on DVD soon.

I haven't seen the original version with Julie Andrews, but I desperately wish to. The latter two released versions are mediocre, and I'm sure they pale in comparison. Everyone should have the right to view the musical the way it was intended, which was specifically written for Julie Andrews. Please remaster and release the original.

I am currently playing Cinderella in a community production and wish to see this lost treasure of Julie Andrews. She is one of the greatest performers in theatre history, and to have a lost performance of hers is tragic.

I personally would alsp like a soundtrack from the current 1997 version of the movie. I think the 1997 version had people with beautiful voices as well and wish i could have a soundtrack of those songs as well as the new ones from that movie too.

I adored the Lesley Ann Warren Cinderella as a child and delight in watching the video of it that I FINALLY obtained as an adult. Certainly, the original version needs to be well preserved and available to those who love it as passionately as I love to later version.

I have always loved the story of Cinderella. Now my 2 year old daughter has been introduced to the R & H versions and she is entranced by them both. She watches them every day (I'm not kidding!) We sing all the beautiful songs together before bedtime. They are so magical! I just became aware of the Julie Andrews version and I know we would both love to see it! I have been familiar with this classic R&H score ever since the age of ten, when I first heard the original Columbia LP. Two years later, I watched the original telecast of the 1965 production, and I have since seen the 1997 ABC/Disney version. However, I have long been interested in seeing the original.

Why oh why could CBS have not used a color film negative to record the live performance off a color monitor?? Regardless, with all the "junk" we are being bombarded with in video/DVD, it is an absolute shame that this masterpiece has not yet been offered to the public. I had the opportunity last week to speak with Ted Chapin (the head of the R&H Organization) and he said that a DVD of the '57 Cinderella will be released next spring !!

As a matter of musical theatre history I wish to see the original, since all accounts say it was superb and ground-breaking. The fuzzy kinescope (sp?) quality makes it only more fascinating as a bit of history, as will the reported blunders of the leading man on live television.

I heard the soundtrack of this show and was completely enchanted. Leslie Ann Warren's version shows a sweet little girl who can move the audience, but Julie Andrews is even more touching. Her "In My Own Little Corner" has just the right mixture of sadness and innocence to make the listener cry. Then there are the duets. One of the most cheerful and inspiring moments in all theater is when Cinderella and the FGM sing "Impossible," and "Ten Minutes Ago" is pure joy and ecstasy. There are even more people who would feel this way. This Cinderella is the perfect show to remind people to hope because "impossible things are happening everyday."

I've seen parts of the original one, and I have the soundtrack, and it's THE BEST. Please, do bring it out on VHS and DVD!

Being born in '61 I grew up with the '65 version, which I still love. But what a dream come true to see this original restored and available on DVD. I've seen tiny snippets of the'57 version in documentaries, grainy and fluffy from age. This treasure of the Golden Age of TV DESERVES to be ressurected and restored to its original beauty. By all means please consider making it available to all of us who've imagined how wonderful it must have been. Our modern TV age is riddled with casual vulgarity and disgusting promiscuity. I think our children need to know that true talent does not express itself in laviscious, sex-kitten 'diva's. Don't our children deserve to see that entertainment can be completely enjoyable without being so shallow and rude? They need the innocence, as do we. Thank You.

I am a long-time Julie Andrews Edwards fan, and remastering her performance of Cinderella in the 1957 production would be the greatest tribute to her of all. Cinderella helped her to win the role of Maria Rainer in The Sound of Music after Robert Wise viewed it to see if she was photogenic enough for the role. I am almost positive that Mrs. Andrews would appreciate and love it more than anyone else.

The 1957 Cinderella is truly a piece of entertainment history, in many respects: it was the only R&H musical ever written specifically for television; the massive advertising campaign leading up to it broke all precedents; and HELLO? 107 MILLION viewers.... In short, this deserves to be seen again. In its own way, it is definitely up to the standards of the 1997 remake, and it's WAY better than the 1965 one. What it lacks in splashy colours and state-of-the-art special effects, it makes up for in charm, class, and a special indefinable something which can probably be attributed to the fact that, at the back of yuor brain, you know it was being done live. No retakes or second chances. It is nothing short of a grave injustice that the only available copies of this wonderful bit of history are nothing more than illegal bootlegs. Cinderella '57 should be released in a format accessible to the general public, and this should happen sooner rather than later.

Cinderella (1957) is absolutely wonderful and really should be available to the general public. The hard work and talents of all involved are shown immensely throughout the entirety of the musical. Justice has not yet been delivered to this great musical classic.

I own the Cinderella 1957 cd and it is wonderful!! I cannot wait to see the movie in all its remastered glory. I still have not recovered from the fact that it is not even available for the public. It is truly appalling to ponder!! No pirated versions for me -- I want my own copy preferably a dvd with some extras added in!!
